Data sources and coverage

Public clinical trial records made easier to search.

Clinical Trial Matcher aggregates public study information from ClinicalTrials.gov and presents it in a patient-friendly search experience with clear links back to the official source record.

Primary source

ClinicalTrials.gov API.

The platform uses the public ClinicalTrials.gov API as its primary trial source. Each trial record links back to the official ClinicalTrials.gov study page when available.

Quality and limitations

Transparent limitations of public trial data.

Public trial records may be incomplete, delayed, or changed by the sponsor, site, or registry after Clinical Trial Matcher last refreshed the database. Patients, caregivers, sites, CROs, and sponsors should verify all study status, eligibility, location, compensation, and contact information with the official study listing and participating research site before making decisions.
